TikTok continues to attract reactions around the world. The United States has threatened to ban TikTok for commercial and political reasons and has taken away the US operations of the practice from China, and now Pakistan has banned TikTok.
TikTok was everyone’s problem
It was announced by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) that access to TikTok from within the country was blocked. As a reason, the videos shared in the app were not in accordance with Pakistan’s values and culture.
The PTA also stressed that it had asked TikTok to remove the content and that warnings had been sent but no response had been received.
According to a law introduced in Pakistan in March, the country’s internet services that contain content that is contrary to the law must remove content that does not comply with the law.
TikTok, on the other hand, said that they regularly meet with the PTA and strive to solve the problem.
